Refund Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Refund Policy explains when you can get your money back from StartupSub ("we", "us", or "our"), how to ask, and how long it takes. It applies to every StartupSub subscription purchased through startupsub.pro and forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
In one line: your first 7 days are free, so if it isn't for you, cancel before the trial ends and you are never charged. After the first payment, subscription fees are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise or we agree to a refund as a goodwill gesture.
Payments are processed by PayPal. StartupSub is the seller, and approved refunds are issued by us through PayPal back to your original payment method.
1. The 7-day free trial (pay after 7 days)
We advertise this on our pricing page and we honour it exactly as written: you pay after 7 days, so if you are not loving it, you don't risk it.
- Every new Subscription starts with a seven (7) calendar day Trial Period that begins on the day you approve your Subscription. No payment is taken during it.
- You approve the subscription with PayPal when you sign up so that billing can start automatically, but the first charge is only made when the Trial Period ends.
- If you cancel at any point before the Trial Period ends, no payment is ever taken and there is nothing to refund. No explanation is required — we may ask for optional feedback, but nothing is ever conditional on giving it.
- The Trial Period applies once per client, to a new Subscription only. It does not apply to renewals, to a Subscription that has already used a Trial Period, or to a Subscription restarted after cancellation.
- To cancel during the trial, cancel from your PayPal account (Settings → Payments → Automatic payments) or email startupsubpro@gmail.com before the 7 days are up.
2. After the trial ends
Because the Service is a subscription for custom development work that is performed and delivered continuously throughout each Billing Cycle, payments are non-refundable once the Trial Period has passed and billing has started. This includes:
- Every monthly renewal payment after the first;
- Any Billing Cycle during which you submitted Requests, gave feedback, or received Deliverables — using the Service during a cycle means the corresponding services have been rendered;
- Unused time in a cycle where the Service remained available to you. Rather than a refund for time you did not use, you can pause your Subscription and keep the remaining paid days for later.
3. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, and we will always honour them.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for services purchased online. Where you ask us to start work immediately — for example by submitting your first Request — you consent to performance beginning during the withdrawal period. If you then withdraw within 14 days, we will refund the amount paid less a proportionate deduction for the services already supplied up to the point you told us, in accordance with applicable law. If you have not asked us to begin and no work has started, you receive a full refund.
The 14-day withdrawal period runs from the day your Subscription is concluded, which means it overlaps with, and extends beyond, the 7-day Trial Period. Where the 14-day statutory calculation would give you a better outcome than simply cancelling during the trial, you receive the more favourable outcome. Consumers elsewhere retain any equivalent rights available under their local law.
4. Discretionary and pro-rated refunds
Outside the situations above, refunds are granted at our discretion — and we would rather fix a problem than keep money you feel we did not earn. If we agree to a discretionary refund, it will normally be pro-rated against the unused days of the current Billing Cycle only. We will always consider a refund where:
- You were charged twice for the same Billing Cycle, or charged after a valid cancellation;
- A technical or billing error on our side or PayPal's caused an incorrect amount to be taken;
- We were unable to start or continue work on your Requests for reasons within our control;
- You cancelled but were renewed because a cancellation request did not reach us — contact us within 14 days of the renewal charge and we will make it right.
5. What is not refundable
- Work already completed, delivered, requested, or substantially performed before the refund request;
- Third-party costs you incurred for your own project — domains, hosting, cloud infrastructure, API or AI usage credits, app-store fees, and commercial licences for fonts, images, or plugins;
- Any Billing Cycle in which the Subscription was substantially used;
- Subscriptions terminated by us for breach of our Terms, including abuse of the Service, fraudulent activity, or repeated refund abuse.
6. What happens after a refund is issued
A refund closes out the work for that period. Once a refund is issued, all rights to the Deliverables produced during the refunded period revert to StartupSub, the licence to use them is withdrawn, and you must stop using, deploying, distributing, or building on that work and delete any copies in your possession. Access to the project board and the queue for the refunded period ends at the same time. Deliverables from earlier, fully paid Billing Cycles are unaffected and remain yours.
7. How to request a refund
The fastest route is email. Write to startupsubpro@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund request" and include:
- The email address used at checkout;
- Your PayPal subscription id (it starts with I- and is shown on your confirmation page and in your PayPal account);
- The date of the payment you want refunded;
- Optionally, what went wrong — helpful for us, but never required.
8. Timelines
- We acknowledge every refund request within two (2) business days.
- We decide and, where approved, issue the refund through PayPal within five (5) business days of receiving the request.
- PayPal then returns the funds to your original payment method. Banks and card issuers typically take a further five (5) to ten (10) business days to post the credit; the exact timing is set by your bank, not by us.
- Refunds are made in the original currency and to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card, account, or person.
- Any tax charged on the refunded amount is refunded in the same proportion.
9. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Please talk to us before opening a dispute or chargeback. Almost every dispute we see is a misunderstanding about a renewal or an unfamiliar statement descriptor — charges appear as "PAYPAL *STARTUPSUB" or a similar PayPal descriptor — and we can usually resolve it the same day at startupsubpro@gmail.com.
Where a dispute is raised through the PayPal Resolution Centre or your bank without contacting us first, we will provide PayPal with the records of the Subscription, the Requests submitted, and the work delivered. Subscriptions subject to an unresolved dispute may be suspended, and we may decline to serve clients who repeatedly raise unwarranted disputes. This does not affect your right to dispute a genuinely unauthorised or fraudulent charge.
10. Cancelling instead of refunding
You can cancel at any time — no contract, no notice period, no cancellation fee. Cancel from your PayPal account under Settings → Payments → Automatic payments, or email startupsubpro@gmail.com. Cancel during the 7-day Trial Period and no payment is ever taken. Otherwise, cancellation stops all future billing immediately, and you keep access to the Service and your queue until the end of the current paid period. If you only need a break, ask us to pause instead and your remaining paid days are held for whenever you come back.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in force at the time of your payment is the one that applies to that payment. Material changes will be notified by email or a notice on the website, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change.
